Beachrunners’ Inn is Long Beach’s Premier Bed and breakfast. It is a 1913 restored Craftsman home with five distinctive guest rooms, each with private baths.

The staff at Beachrunners has the distinction of being one of Skyhound’s longest clients. We first created a website for their stylish B&B in the 1990s. While we continued to host their site throughout those years, the Inn experimented with different website designs and opted for a do-it-yourself site builder in the mid-2000s.

While this option seemed more straightforward to create, traffic and sales were lagging behind.   Because of this, the team at Beachrunners’ reached out to us again in 2019, and listening to their concerns, we created a new and modern design for the craftsman home, which focused on reservations.   Local Inn’s like Beachrunners’ struggle with diminishing commissions through online reservation sites, so we decided to focus on how cool it was to go “old school” and pick up the phone and call for a reservation.  This idea, along with the 10% savings, increased their phone-based reservations 3x, allowing them to avoid commission payments altogether.

Another unique feature that their guests enjoy is the “Click here to have us call you” feature. Here, site visitors can simply enter their phone number and name and submit the form, and within minutes, they receive a call from their staff. With the abundance of non-human voice trees and bots, their guests appreciate the personal service of the website feature.
